What I am going to write about is a very touchy subject. I write this not to step on peoples toes, but in the hopes to wake those up that are deep in this insidious trap that many have fallen into. What am I referring to? Hypocrisy. I will first start with a dictionary definition and attempt to enlighten those who may not understand what Hypocrisy is all about. According to Webster's American Family dictionary it says that Hypocrisy is "1. The false profession of desirable or publicly approved quality, beliefs, or feelings, esp. a pretense of having virtues, moral principals, or religious beliefs, that one does not really possess. 2. An act of or instance of hypocrisy." In other words it is the act of pretending to be something you are not. Now that I have said that I will say I am not surprised this has happened. Over the years American people have been humiliated. Tortured, mistreated, tormented, murdered. There bodies dragged naked through the street, hung off of bridges and other unspeakable acts done to them. To me hypocrisy is evil at its worst. The reason I believe this way is because, many souls are dying and are headed to hell because of hypocrisy. I have met those on and off line that are hypocrites and they make me nauseated. When you stay in the word you are able to detect those hypocrites when they cross your path. I would rather deal with someone who curses and are foul, but honest and doesn't claim to be something they are not, than someone who is pious prideful, judgmental and struts around like the biblical pharisees saying I am always right and everyone else is wrong. But let us get into what GOD has to say about hypocrites. This is more important than what you or I have to say about this subject. Deuteronomy 11:16 says; "Take heed to yourselves that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside and serve others gods, and worship them." This is a strong warning that there are those that pretend to be Christians and really are not, and if you fall into there hypocritical trap, you will end up worshiping other gods. "Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I, yeah thine own lips testifieth against thee" Job 15:6. Pretty strong words, isn't it? It comes directly from GOD'S word. I could sit here and write all opinions and that can be contested, but GOD'S word is true and cannot be contested even though many have tried. "I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers" Psalms 26:4. King David of the bible made it quite clear he did not want to have anything to do with hypocrites. There are so many strong words in GOD'S word against hypocrites that I could go on and on but instead I will list some of the references at the end of this article. But first let us see what JESUS has to say about this subject. JESUS said in Matthew 5:20; "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness exceeds that of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye in no case shall enter into the kingdom of heaven." Those are pretty strong words, but JESUS is the one who said it. He is saying your righteousness will not work, unless it is greater than those of the scribes and pharisees. That was a bit of sarcasm saying, hypocrisy will keep you out of heaven. I could go on and on but then I would run out of room. So let me say this final thing. I cannot stand being around a hypocrite, They are evil and dangerous. I am not perfect in no means but I am the same on or off line. I don't pretend to be someone or something I am not. I have many faults but JESUS is working on them one at a time. I will be the first one to admit it. Do I Sin? I sure do. I am not proud of that but it is a fact, GOD'S word tells us if we say we have no sin, we are liars and the truth is not in us. Why am I telling you this? The reason is, if someone never says I am sorry, is always right, never wrong, they are hypocrites plain and simple. Be careful around them or they will deceive you. According to Matthew 23:25-28, hypocrisy is akin to murder. Think about that. Stay in the word, pray, ask GOD to guide you so as not to fall into the insidious trap of a hypocrite.
