Standing Up For Christ

Christ the Anchor

Standing up for Christ.....What does this mean to you? It probably means different things to different people.

Few of us will ever know what it means to die for Christ, to loose our life for Jesus. But I am sure there are those that have stood for God and His Word, and knows what it feels like to loose a friend because of it. There are those that have even lost their family because they chose God and His Word, to live for God.

To stand for God, we must put God first, no matter the cost. We must put God and His will ahead of our spouse, our family, our friends, our job, our own wants. Standing for Christ does not mean we hate anyone, but it does mean we are not to condone evil and sin, and we are not to sugar-coat it, making it look "okay" to live outside of God's Word.

Sometimes standing for God will cost us dearly in this life. It might mean you loose those you hold dear, such as your wife or husband, your parents, your sons or daughters. But though we loose in this life, we will gain in the next.

There might be someone that is facing major decisions, wondering what path to take. They don't know whether to take the easy road, and follow the crowd, or follow God knowing what it might cost them.

God never promised this life would be easy, or that when we choose to follow Him, the road would be an easy one without toils and troubles and tears and sadness. God did, however, promise to never leave us, and to always be with us.

Stand up for Christ now and don't give place to the devil or his ways. God loves the sinner, but He hates the sin. Jesus ate with the sinners, but Jesus never told them to go and continue living in sin, rather Jesus told them to go and sin no more.

So faith is believing, having hope in something that cannot be seen. In this case it is JESUS CHRIST. You say there is no evidence in this. Just look around you at nature and how, until man intervenes, everything is perfectly balanced. Can you seriously say there is no GOD? The fool has said in his heart there is no GOD.

Stand up for God, no matter the cost, and in it many will be blessed. And who is to say that in you doing so, you might be that one witness for Christ that God uses to help another along life's way.
