Thought For The Soul
TERRORISM
By John and Cindy Thomas

Christ the Anchor

JOB 4:14 fear and trembling seized me and made all my bones shake.
JOB 5:21 You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes.
JOB 5:22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the beasts of the earth.
JOB 28:28 And he said to man, `The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' "
Psalm 3:6 I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.
Proverbs 3:25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
Proverbs 3:26 for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
Luke 12:4-7 "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

You are probably wondering why all the verses on fear and why I put that many verses. The bible talks a lot about fear. Fear can be a good thing when the reaction to it is appropriate. For example fearing GOD is appropriate, but as a child of GOD fearing evil is not. Now this does not mean we are to be careless and court evil. If we do that we will surely fall.

I am sure by now there are those of you that may be wondering what all this has got to do with terrorism. Terrorism goes hand in hand with fear. Without fear terrorism is dead. Let us see the definition of terrorism and fear and how they relate to each other.

Terrorism according to Webster's American Family Dictionary is 1. The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. 2.To dominate or coerce by intimidation.

Fear according to the Websters American Family Dictionary is concern or anxiety. Terror is just an extreme form of fear. Instead of writing out the whole meaning of fear I urge you to look it up.

There are many times in the GOD's word that says "Fear not". That is because fear paralyzes you when you allow it. It places you in bondage, you are no longer free when you are constantly afraid. That is how terrorism works.

If we look to JESUS for or strength and courage, a thousand cowardly terrorists like bin Laden, will fail in trying to bring us to our knees in fear.

We should go about our daily tasks and what we always did before the terrible tragedy of September 11, 2001. WHY SHOULD I ALLOW AN EVIL MAN LIKE BIN LADEN, AND ALL HIS COWARDLY CRONIES TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE.

So fellow believers, don't be afraid of evil, of scum like those who practice terrorism and murder innocent people. JESUS has over come evil at the cross and we should never be afraid of it.

Do not be careless my friends, be ever vigilant in the fight against evil, against satan, but do not be afraid either.
