Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Many of us today simply do not discipline our children. These children grow up to be criminals and also they may end up being lost for eternity in Hell unless GOD miraculously intervenes.
The Proverbs above tells us not only we are to discipline our children but also if we don't, we hate them. If we love our children we discipline them over and over again. We are responsible to raise up our children in the LORD. If we don't their blood is on our hands. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Does this verse say let a child do whatever he or she wants, and never discipline? Absolutely not. In fact it says that we are to use the rod of discipline on that child to remove Foolishness from him or her. There are so many places in GOD's word that talks about discipline that I would be writing a book on it, and I try to keep my weekly thoughts short. I do want to say that we in America are on a dangerous course for not disciplining are children, There will be literal hell to pay for us who do not discipline our children. When the government contradicts the word of GOD you tell me which one are we to obey? We must always obey GOD'S word, especially when it comes to disciplining of our children.
Do not mistake child abuse with Discipline, I will be the first one to stand up against child abuse but to many times, good old fashioned discipline is classified as child abuse. This is not only sad but disgusting. I answer to GOD and GOD alone. If I discipline my children and the government takes them from me, then they are responsible before GOD and rest assured sooner or later GOD WILL DEAL WITH THEM HARSHLY.
I would like to say this, in closing. Never discipline your child in anger. Whether it is spanking, or other types of discipline. Always do it in love and do your best to portray this to the object of your discipline. If you are so angry you are afraid of hurting your child, walk away. Tell the child when you are cooled off enough you will come back and discipline him or her. So how do you want your child to turn out. GOD'S word promises if you raise that child accordingly when he is old he will not depart from it.
19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
